“Ladies and gentelmen welcome to the feature, Plex Long the Don is a nocturnal creature…” “Nostalgic Reflections” is the fourth album from ALR/Black Box Ent. recording artist Plex Long. If you’ve been following the “My Purpose” saga then you already know whats up. Many talented artists, writers, and producrs came together on this album to make it one of the most special yet.
This collection of tunes verbalizes and further solidifies the position of Plex Long’s obscure success story. It’s not the success of a rapper, industry dude, or any other falsehood associated with being a hip hop artist. These songs all celebrate the success of being a man conscious of the world around him. By learning from his own mistakes, and the mistakes of people close to him, he tells stories to help other ppl avoid pitfalls, quests toward trivial ambitions, and fleeting moments in their own lives. All of Plex Long’s albums celebrate the success of any human being who can see thru the vail of fame, money, addiction, or anything that keeps you from being who you are really supposed to be. Take a trip thru the eyes of a man who’s seen it all and who shares his wisdom and experiences over beats.

You may remember Rx from his contribution with Sonkin on the “Basswars E.P.” out on ALR earlier this year. Well he’s back with 4 new tracks that’ll beat you into a concussion. Hailing from Philadelphia, Rx has blended his worlds to create this massive release set to drop June 4th, 2010. The set of tracks includes the original mixes and instrumentals so you can really get dirty behind the decks. Collaborations with Sgt Sass, Chae Hawk, Black Terminator, and Mista Chatman make this a hot little nugget for any dj crate.
Welcome to the first ALR dubstep release of 2010. The “Bass Wars” compilation was inspired from the bi weekly event held in East Atlanta. The war for the deepest, loudest bass rages on as we enlist soldiers from various regions to raid and pillage dance floors across the globe. We got plenty of Ammo for the reload so consider us your “audio arms dealer” when you are looking to drop those bombs. The track and artist list for this collection speaks for itself. So do yourself a favor, make sure you are locked & loaded before the carnage ensues.
ALR’s 36th release “A Town Down” Vol 1. is a sonic kick to the skull. This is a collection of dubstep tunes put together by ALR featuring various producers and emcees from Atlanta and surrounding areas. This is just more proof of how we get down over here. Volume 1 is a taste of what’s to come with this series. These producers are further proving that the lines between genres have been blurred, and that when it comes to dubstep in the dirty south: Anything goes!! These tunes have been tested on dance floors all over the south east and the response has been nothing short of crunk!!
Fresh outta the ALR studio. Plex Long comes out of his 3 or 4 month retirement (we knew it wouldn’t last long) to drop this hot nasty fire. The beat and vocals were all made and recorded in the same night in a stroke of drunken genius. Low Quality sound on the youtube and for that i am sorry. Official release info coming soon. Just felt like this tune was to hot not to leak.
Heavy Machine is coming to get you–with creepy southern fried dubstep. This two man army consists of Whisperlink and Phive Starr These two run beats down and destroy their villages.Although this is a young project and formed in the beginning of 08′-Heavy Machine shows what happens when two experienced generals in the game put their heads together and destroy all enemy soundsystems.

ALR MIXTAPE VOL 2. is the second installment of this series. This compilation features an eclectic mix of artists who have all displayed skills over these abstract beats. A lot of this is freestyle off the top of the head type stuff, and some of it is super produced written stuff. The artists on this album bring a definite raw feeling that makes this worth listening to.
ALR MIXTAPES VOL 1. is the beginning of a series of productions by Charlie P featuring the various vocalists, and recording artists he met and recorded over the course of his time on North Decatur Rd.. VOL 1 is the experiment that started this whole thing. It features several emcee’s demonstrating mad skill and top notch lyrical content over Acoustic/Guitar driven beats that definitely please the most picky of musical connoisseurs.
This is what happens when opposite worlds collide. Charlie P of Abstract Logic Recordings has been making noise as a DJ and producer in Atlanta’s underground electronic music scene for years. In 2005 he linked up with rapper Plex Long of Black Box Ent and they had an instantaneous musical chemistry. Plex’s deep lyrics and subject matter mixed with Charlie’s emotionally charged tracks provides a classic sound that has never been heard before or duplicated since. Smiles & Cries was first released in 2007 receiving critical acclaim and rave reviews instantly! The tracks on this album have live guitars provided by Andrew Provine of Random Rabbit, Andy Brewer and Wayne Kelly. This album will give you emotional highs and lows as the music trasitions from uptempo glitchy bass tracks to smooth acoustic melodies. My Purpose Vol. 1: “Smiles & Cries” is a must have album for any listener that appreciates genre diversity in music.
